The Arts

Visual Arts

Park Maitland’s Art Room is brimming with color, creativity, and artistic expression while engaging both the academic left-brain and creative right-brain thinkers. The visual arts program educates students in a variety of genres including drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture.

Students are encouraged to study the work of master artists such as Picasso, Monet, Van Gogh, Cezanne, and Matisse. Their experiences come to life as they discover details about the life, style, and work of each artist through our Art History Program.

Our students enjoy our clay studio which includes a professional, electric kiln and a pottery wheel that produces exotic glazes, breathing vessels and sculptures. Students’ artwork has been shown in local museums and art galleries and on television stations as well as recognized in prestigious art competitions.

Music

Our music program is full of harmony! Current research suggests that exposure to music is often the key to augmenting an aptitude for learning. Our program embraces exposure to a wide variety of music and composers including Classical, Jazz, Rock, and Blues.

The incorporation of technology, art, and history are used to enhance and ignite our music education program. Music classes are designed to foster each individual student’s creativity and skill development while encouraging them to find their own artistic voice.

There are other opportunities throughout the year when students showcase their musical achievements.
